Cox HealthPlans and CoxHealth provide free programs and events for our members? Below are some of the programs that are offered throughout the month:
Advance Directives Workshop – Learn more about advance care planning and advance directives. Staff will help you complete a legal advance directive to ensure your health wishes are followed.
Freedom from Nicotine Support Group – Led by a tobacco treatment specialist, this is a time for support and discussion with other individuals in a similar situation.
Wellness for Warriors – This class is free for military, veterans, first responders and their families. It introduces mind and body techniques to improve well-being, regardless of physical limitations or psychological distress. Topics covered include stress management, sleep disorders, nutrition, yoga, tai chi, and meditation.
Prepared Childbirth Class – Learn what to expect during childbirth.
Medicare Seminar – A free seminar presented by Cox HealthPlans to learn about Medicare Advantage and the CoxHealth Medicare Advantage plan.
Varicose Vein Screenings – Varicose veins can cause serious discomfort. If you experience leg pain that causes aching, cramping, or burning, skin changes or discoloration, or leg numbness or tingling, it’s time to get screened. CoxHealth has board-certified vascular surgeons who specialize in the latest vein treatments. If needed, procedures are covered by most insurance plans, including Medicare.
