Does COPD affect your Quality of Life?

January 3, 2022, 9:22 pm

According to recent data from the CDC, Missouri has a higher rate of people with COPD compared to other states. In the survey, Missourians diagnosed with COPD said that their condition limits their activity and affects their mental health – both of which can affect quality of life. If you suffer from COPD “flare-ups”, also known as exacerbations, which cause you to go to the Emergency Room or be admitted for inpatient care, you should know that a doctor may be able to help you find better ways to manage your COPD and keep you out of the hospital. Medications that reduce your flare-ups can improve your quality of life and may be covered by your plan benefits.
